Sweet Memories

As we are sitting here tonight playing the Wii fit it is so cool to think that tonight is our two year anniversary from when we started dating . I was home from Byu Idaho and did not want to go to the young single adult dance I was tired of guys and did not want anything to do with them at this time but my dad told me I needed to go so I made the excuse that i did not know how to get there. Silly of me to say that because none the less my dad showed me the way the the fairgrounds in his van and I followed behind. I felt so dumb for following my dad to a dance. I was not in a good mood once I got there and started to have some fun I met up with a friend and hung out with her for a while. But still I knew nobody but  then on a fast song I looked forward and saw a handsome blonde guy coming toward me he smiled and I got a few goosebumps and then I realized who it was it was David Tanner . He smiled and it melted me  I said hi asked him about his mission which he replied enthusiastically then a slow dance came on and we danced. Even then looking back on it now it seemed so right dancing with him everything in the world seemed to be in it's place, I was sad when the dance ended. But then he asked me if I would like to go on a date I said I would love to and we planned the date for the fourth of january . Soon after I left and I had lots of butterflies in my tummy. When the dayof the date came I was so nervous and I changed my outfit at least five times. David picked me up in his exterra and was surprised to be riding in such a hot car. Well david took me to go rock climbing and mind you I hate hate heights I am terrified of them but I wanted to impress him so badly so I did it an I did it without wetting my pants thank heavens. we laughed and pretened to be peter pan as we swung from the ropes we climbed on top of one of the rocks you are not supposed to and I got stuck and was to scared to get down . he offered to catch me which i would have loved to if I weren't worried about squishing him well he giggled as he held out his arms as  I fumbled down the rock he caught me on the last part and we fell to the mat laughing. he then looked at me and asked me hey would you like to go see a movie and get some dinner? I was stunned in Idaho boys take you to a cheap movie then take you home . I wanted to spend more time with him so I said yes.  So we headed across the street to the theater and got tickets to see I am legend. the movie began and I don't do well with scary movies my hands sweat really bad but as it came to a scary part all of a sudden he grabbed my hand it automatically sent shivers down my spine like a bolt of lightning he looked at me then squeezed my hand reassuringly. Was this the guy i knew in high school the shy guy in band in choir he seemed still like himself but he had alot more courage. The next 2 hours I hardly paid attention to the movie. After the movie he took me down 25th street to the union grill where he held my hand I to the restaurant. My friend who was a waitress there seated us and I ordered fettucine of course with some ketchup on the side . He looked at me funny and this was the first weord ketchup experience he would have with me . When I went to the bathroom my friend asked if he was my boyfriend  I told her no but deep down I was wishing he was. When I got back  we talked and I laughed like I have never  laughed before, it seemed as if I had not truly laughed until I met him. I didn't want the evening to end. but soon it came and he took me home and met my family in our basement his smile lit up the room and my parents were already impressed by how I seemed to glow and by his overwhelming happiness and spirit. Then he said goodnight and I was so wanting him to kiss me  and little did I know that this  date would be the beginning of forever. So thanks dad for being inspired and forcing me to go to the dance.

Evias First Christmas 2009

This year it was the Berntsens turn to have us over for Christmas and this year we drove up to Canada to visit Bre Brand and the boys. Evia had just gotton a bad cold and was very cranky we were worried how she would do on the drive up there. She actually did very well because we had her on childrens tylenol it is liquid gold. It was a very long drive though but it was made easier by my christmas present.David has been selling some things on ebay and we had enough to pay for half of the car it is a hyundai sonata. David came home the day before we left and he told me to get dressed we were going somewhere so I  put on my goat and  closed my eyes as we drove. We had been talking about getting a safer car to drive but little did I know we would get one so soon. Before I knew it the car stopped and I got out to see a little car dealership we walked aroud the corner to the front of the cealership to see a slate grey hyundai sonata sitting out front he said surprise and that would be the car we would be getting. I started jumping up and down and was so surprised to see a car so nice . I have been so used to my car I didn't even know the difference. We walked in and met davids Mission companion who was the one who was selling us the car he was very nice and I have never had so much fun signing paper work. Once that was all done I got to take the first drive and it was amazingly smooth. As I was driving home I was screaming with excitement and was thrilled with my present I have always wanted a new car but this was like floating on air. So we took my car up to Canada it made the ride alot more endurable it took us 13 hours. When we got there it was so nice to have beds made by my mumsey  as soon as we hit the beds we were out. When we woke up bree wanted to show us something she made for her daughter she is expecting in february she made some cute tutus and we tried them on Evia it was so cute.

She looked like she had been frosted like a cupcake or a sugar plum fairy who stepped out of the nutcracker.
After breakfast we played christmas bingo for several hours it was a blast  it was fun to see the everyone open their prizes and see their faces light up, I could hardly wait till christmas day to see evia nd the boys open their presents.

After presents we went to chinese food to keep the Christmas story tradition alive the food was so so good I am actually craving it now.Sadly Mequette,Breanna,My mom and myself  would pay the price we all eventually got sick  from it. After we got home we started to make cookies  I love making Christmas cookies by this time our cookies looked like childrens we were all so tired.

My mom has alot more pictures so I will update this post when I get more pics

The Tanner Christmas Sunday

For Christmas I found This cute little Santa outfit for Evia for only four dollars !! What a steal!! The hat fits her kind of funny though but I think she still looks cute. The only problem with velvet fabric /chenile is that when she drools it leaves a trail of evidence on her outfit. Well Sunday we got all dressed up and went over to Nate and Katherines to celebrate and early Christmas since we are going to Canada for Christmas this year.

It was so foggy going to Nate and Katherines  it was hard to see the other cars in front of us  I am so glad david was driving. The only thing though I like about fog is it makes leaves and trees look gorgeous here was a tree in Nate and Katherines frontyard.

David is so cute when he plays with Evie she loves it when he comes home her face almost splits in two peices . HHHmmm sounds  kind of like the man I married. She is also getting so big she is trying to sit up and is really strong she likes to stand up and some times when we try to put her down she cries. She is so active and loves to look around and see what everyone else is doing and if she doesn't like something she is sure to let you know.

After a awesome dinner of beer battered chicken  we started to open presents the kids were so excited and I can't wait till I can see the same look of excitement on Evias face. I was wanting to open mine so bad paul was teasing me he told me to wait for the kids to open theirs first. I felt like a kid again opening my present I got some candy cane looking candles and a ice cream recipe book from Sarah. Evia got a really cool silent book of nursery rhymes that sarah made . It was made of Mary Engelbright illustrations on fabric then you just put batting in between the pages and sew them shut and it makes a book!! It was such a clever idea. And from Paul and JoAnn we got a JC Penny giftcard and I got a beautiful necklace that Paul made. He made all of the daughters a peice of jewlery I love mine!! I still havn't taken it off. Paul also mad the boys handmade old fashioned tops they were so cool and quite pretty. Also Evia got some cute outfits and some sleeping bag pajamas those are one of the smartest things invented.

Davids wardrobe  consists of squeaky clean shirts, work scrubs, and shirts with holes from our old cursed dryer so I got him some new clothes and let him open it early so he could wear it to the party, He looks rather dashing wouldn't  you say?

Hey Rex I don't think it said "Daddy assembly not included on the box."

The best Christmas present for a baby Wrapping paper it entertains all ages!! Even when I was wrapping our family gifts she was always mesmerized by the shiny blue wrapping paper. It not only was shiny but sounded funny to her and she would giggle. We were in charge of dessert and so we made a chocolate cake. We did not have normal cake pans so we used my spring form cheesecake pans and made a triple layered cake dripping with frosting and melted chocolate on top, david also made pretty chocolate swirl shavings for decoration it turned out so pretty and looked delicious.but the only way to see how tasty it was was having the kids try it . Tell me what do you think?

Parting is such sweet sorrow

Today we sold my beloved Dolores I have had this car since I was sixteen and it was tough to see her go. I have been driving a stick shift for six years. And it seems strange that I will not be driving that car anymore. It has always been so reliable and has never broken down on me. She has had only 75,000  miles on it and only the fuel filters would get clogged other than that she ran like a charm.

The snow plow came by and snowed my car in so before we could get some last minute things done with the car, david had to shovel it out, the snow had turned to  ice but david was a stud and dug the car out.

I have actually worn a hand mark on the stick i have driven the car so much. We sold it to a couple who are expecting a  baby in march and they were so excited they have a Miata which only holds two  so they got my car for her to drive.I hope they  use her till she dies until then goodbye  dolores!!

CHRISTMAS CHOCOLATES

Me and JoAnn got together and we dipped chocolates for christmas. She made mint fondant carmal coconut and carmal nut clusters for us to dip. And then I brought the chocolate we stuck the chocolate in a croc pot and it melted perfectly.

We then rolled the carmal and fondant into balls I made some small ones for some chocolate molds that I have been wanting to try out.

Boy dipping chocolates sure is messy  we got chocolate all over the place, good thing it was tasty. Here is the finished result of some of the molds I had. These ones were filled with the fondant and caramal. They look almost professional don't you think

We were like Julie and Julia childs he he we are going to try to make this a tradition every year
