The Attack of the Beanie Babies !!!

Today I did something I never thought I would do I pulled out all make a note all of my beanie babies and I cut the tags off. Now for those of you who have collected beanie babies such as me and my sister Mequette . We were told by many that if you rip off the tag the value of the beanie baby is pretty much nothing. I was breaking every rule in the book as I tore off each and every tag. I could not beleive what I was doing!! But now days beanie babies really are not worth anything at all so what the heck.!! When I first found out I was pregnant The first thing I ever bought Evia was a stuffed animal lamb from toys R us and when I put all her toys on the floor that is the thing she heads to first . So this afternoon the fate of a drooling slobbering nine month old  loomed over my beanie babies. She is so much like her aunt Ketty it is kinda scary. She loves loves loves animals!!
so before these are destroyed and eaten by my nine month old here are a few of my favorites.

Goochy the jellyfish . When we were little my mom supported me and ketties collection so much that when we found out Mcdonalds  was promoting miniature TY beanie babies We all flipped.  We never went for the food and we went until they stopped promoting them we ate there just for the beany babies. And lo and behold I got two of my favorite animals. I also got another favorite and mini match called Neon the seahorse.

Tusks the Walrus Evia loved his fur!

Who's my little beanie baby?

Hissy the elastic snake he was fun cause I could wrap him around my moms old ficus tree in her room . I don't know how many times when mom was taking a nap that we would sneak in and kife the ficus to play pretend jungle with. So many good memories with these toys and now I want my daughter to enjoy them as well.

Look she blends right in

Magic the unicorn . When I can create my own world it will have unicorns

Rainbow the Chamelion the blue versions of this chamelion were supposed to be rare. I Rememeber one time me and my mom woke up at like 6 when i was little and we went to Friend Z's it was a craft birthday store by harmons and this was one of the best places to find unique beanie babies. We went there becacuse there was an auction going on because they were going out of business. Mequette was so so upset and we went to find her a very special beanie baby his name is Patches. To this day that dog is one of her fondest memories and she never lets anybody near it. But the other day Evia was sick and Aunt ketty let her sleep with him I was stunned she never let me play with him !! Here is a picture of that very dog only a newer and cleaner version.but anyway we were there forever until finally for the first time ever a berntsen won something!! and it was Patches.

Evia was having so much fun but soon she got overwhelmed by all the toys so she headed over to the trashcan to play with her reflection it was so cute she was waving at her reflection  and talking to herself.

Wheres my little sunshine?

My poor little Evia has been feeling so so sick the past two days. She has had a temp of 103.3 . And hasn't slept much. I never thought watching her cry would hurt my insides so much. I am officialy a mother I am forgetting about some things I need and sacrificing things for her.  It was like when I saw her in  my first ultra sound she was just a blob  but I was in love with her. And now that she is here and she is hurting I feel  it hurts me more than it is hurting her. I only now have a small small small glimpse of what my mom went through I do not know how she did it .  My heart felt like it was ripped from my chest when there was nothing more I could do besides give her tylenol hold her bathe her and comfort her as best as I could. Being a mom is so tough but when she smiles and touches my face softly it is like nothing bad will ever happen.

I can't wait until she feels better so I can have my sweet little girl back

Look who is growing up!!

This is now Evias favorite thing to do! Every time I put her down for a nap I walk in a half hour or an hour later and she is standing up in her crib smiling at me.

She is also so entertained by simple things she also laughs so hard when I act silly sometimes if I say her name in a funny way she laughs her head off. The other day she crawled under her suacer and I started to spin it like a mary go round she was laughing so hard she couldn't catch her breath and I gave her hic ups that she had for about two hours after.

MMMMMM Nummy Pony!!

My First Mothers Day!

I Cannot beleive it is already mothers day! I feel so privileged to be a mother and to be blessed with a wonderful happy daughter and fantastic Husband.  Some days I still cannot beleive I am a mother and I have become who I am today because of my own wonderful mother. She has sacrificed so much for her children and all she expects in return is our love and respect for her I respect and love my mother so dearly that I try every day to become like her. she has made  a huge impact in  what type of a woman I am. I know that when Evia is being watched by her that she will always be safe there is no other person I trust more with her besides my husband. So mom thankyou for all of you love and I hope someday I can show you how much I love you and cherish you.

Mothers Day morning I woke up to the smell of bacon and baby magic Evia was lying on my chest and as soon as I opened my eyes I saw her smile! I must say besides being woken up with a kiss from my hubbie waking up to my smiling daughter was the best.  David had picked some tulips from our garden and put them in a tiny vase on the nightstand. He tried to make it even more special by making french toast in the shape of hearts and by placing bacon and eggs to spell the best word in the world "MOM".  He had even forced our  poor daughter to scribble a mothers day note. He said she started to cry when he was trying to put marker on her hands to leave her signature on the card.  and when I looked at her hands Yep they were stained a purple pink. Now i had received my Mothers Day gift a little early we got new couches !! They are a cocoa color micro fiber and expresso leather on the bottom  they are so comfy and will last us a long time.

David also had the privilage of speaking in church he said he was so nervous!  But something was different when we got to church . There were primary and nursery kids running amuck in the hallways I soon found out that the elders quorum was taking over so that the women could come to Releif Society and Sunday school it was sweet but it was utter chaos. Davids mom and dad came  to hear David talk we even sat on the front row as soon as he got up I was a wreck  he talked about the importance of motherhood and how we shape our childrens lives he started to talk about me and I started crying even harder. I try so hard every day to be a good mom and it was good to hear what he thinks about my role as a mother. It was the icing on the cake then after church we went to the tanners to celebrate cinco de mayo and joanns birthday. It was very fun to be with the fam. after that we went to tell my mumsey happy mothers day I was surprised to see them watching lord of the rings when my mom is not a huge Sci Fi person. She has had horrible Kidney stones and my sister jokingly said mom was feeling so crummy she wouldn't even remember the movie . But my mum gave Evia some whipped cream evia just stuck her hand in it an put it in her mouth and she got it everywhere.

Cinco De Mayo

On mothers day we celebrated cinco de mayo and joanns birthday by having a Pinata. the kids loved it!! and so did Nate who eventually had to bring the pinata down. Nothing can make a child move faster than falling candy from a pinata.

It is like on night at the museum i felt like the Easter Island head " Me no dumb Dumb you Dumb Dumb! You bring me Gum Gum?"

Mothers Day Weekend

Now some mother go shopping for mothers day or go to the spa but not me ! For my first mothers day me David and Our sweet Evie went down to my great grandparents house which where i also grew up. We went By the time we got supplies and tools and got stuff in the car it was 1:30. I was worried we would not get much done but for our fist time fixing up a house i think we did great. It made me appreciate all my parents did to make thios old house a warm loving home my earliest memories are of this house and it is an honor for me to follow in my parents footsteps and do what they did. Here  are some shots before we started working.

Here is the rose room with rose wallpaper . The roof leaked last winter so we have to put in new insulation and sheet rock.

In the pink rose room therenis a brick wall that actually is one of the original walls the back part of the house was  an add on  so we are going to make this room our office and make this a focal wall to put my paintings on.

This was one of the other bedrooms we called it the care bear room the ceiling and closet was covered in the care bear wallpaper.and the other walls were covered in wood paneling.

While David was inside I worked on the yard. David also came out and helped move stuff to the back of the house for the trash collectors.

We used my Grandpas lawn mower but it was electric so while I mowed I had to be sure that I did not shock myself by running over the extension cord.

The grass in most of the yard came up to my knees!! It took me almost two hours to mow  the tiny yard. At the end of the day we also fertilized the yard so we hope to make the grass pretty and green again.

Dad making sure safety is always first  he put safety glasses on her and look how stylin she looks!
David was chopping down the trees and overgrown rosebushes and as he was cutting one of them fell just as I was taking the picture.

Look Evia can now fit on the front  porch!!

Here is the little alley by the side of the house I got some of it cleaned but violets covered the bricks

The reason why we were ripping apart so much stuff was beacause Monday there is a neighborhood pickup  so we tried to rip out what we could . Here is a pile of trash in the neighbors front yard  and now take a look at ours.....

We almost covered the whole back fence!! And we used 9 trash bags to hold all of the bean pods and grass clippings.

When working in the rose room david found and old coal vent and got soot all over his face it was alot worse earlier in the day but he wore parts of it off.
