A Formidable Foe!!

This afternoon Titan kept barking and barking and it wasn't his normal bark he sounded mad , like someone was in the back yard so I went out there to see what he was barking at and I came upon this scene. Our big  75 pound dog was barking at a....... Caterpillar!!

Yep i am not joking the caterpillar is to the left of titan kiddy corner from his mouth can you see it? Well if you can't here is a close up

I am now thinking we should have named him Dug after the dog on Pixars "Up" he he

" Hi there my name is Dug, I just met you and I love you"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OUR LITTLE CUPCAKE!!

A year has come and gone so so fast and me david and my mumsey and ketty had worked so hard to make everything extra special we made cute cupcake toppers , a banner, thankyou bags and mini cupcakes for people to eat at the party . David worked on his ribs for two days  and paul and joann let us use their house for the party.  We were up till midnight making cupcakes and decorating them . at first we had no pam spray so i was using crisco and i was having the hardest time getting the cake molds to work it was getting frustrating till david brought some home once we got that it worked like a charm . Note to my self when in doubt plastter the pan with pam!! And since it was starting to get so late me and ketty got slap happy and started frosting each others faces with handle bar mustaches and goutees.

My sister Bree bought a cute outfit  on etsy for Evia to wear for her birthday outfit. It came and it was so adorable!! Everytime we would walk past the outfit Evia would point to it and want to play with the tutu.

once we put it on her she loved it until she had a hard time crawling then she wanted the tutu off. i also added a few ribbons on the tutu to have it match the decoations and invites.

So big one year old's  brithday officially came and I had plans to have the party outside and it was all going to be absolutly perfect. But the weather had other plans when we got to paul and joanns it was very cloudy and there was posibly a fire by the salt flats because the sky was brown  and windy and it started to rain. I was really disapointed so in my head I  had these cute plans for outside and I was thrown for a loop so we had to put up the decorations at the last minute inside. We were scrambling to get things put together before guests arrived , david was making lenonade and blowing up balloons and I was working on frosting Evias giant  cupcake cake. I got the cake frosted but as I was finishing  noticed the frosting was melting off the cake so I stuck the cake in the fridge. By that time Nate and Catherine and my parents and davids grandparents were there. I promise I had it all organized but it was crazy luckily my mom and dad david and ketty kept my head on straight as they helped hang up the banner and put up balloons and streamers. to make it look adorable !Thanks Fam you are the best I just wish bree could have been there to be my decorator. After we got it decotated and started to chow down on the ribs , fruit and huge batch of baked beans my dad made I started to relax a little. I knew Evia would not remember this day but to me it was really important to take pictures and have fun memories to share with her. Luckily we did have the party inside because it started to pour and the wind aunt marilyn said was up to 75 mph on the freeway. The food was to die for  david  hon you are the grill master everything tasted awesome  I think everyone was enjoying themselves, and catherines boys could not wait to dig into the cake!

Now Remember me and Ketty hand piped these cupcakes at 12 am  and for doing piping for my first time i don't think I did to bad . And in the end everybody got full from the smaller cupcakes so the big one didn't even get eaten.

After dinner it was time for presents and i was so excited Earlier we had gone me evie and ketty to pick out presents we wentr to target to find two cute outfits and then we went down the toy aisle . We tried to find cute toys for her and when we found two we liked we would hold them both up in front of her and let her choose. she would look at both items for a little bit then  she would pick the one she liked and that is how we picked out some of her prizes. is was so cute to watch her, she was so intense when she was looking at them.Here are some of the highlights on her actual birthday david brought her home a puppy that she absolutly adored at walmart everytime we would try to hide it or put it back she would cry. when we wnet to go buy her some prizes and  a highchair though our debit card was doing wacky stuff so we had to leave the puppy at walmart well after we got the card figured out david went back and got her a big girl sppy cup and the puppy. when she got it she was so excited and was holding it so tight to her body we couldn'rt take it away to finish feeding her dinner.

Evia loves loves loves to read!!

Aunt ketty got her this cool playcube  and a disney princes barbie that can go in the water.

Granma and grandpa tanner got her a cute touch and feel duck book some adorable fall outfits and some very cute PJ's. Me Ma and Papa  gave Evia a cute fisher price little people 

princess carriage and a cute swimsuit that looks like a ballerina tutu! Aunt marilyn gave her a cute jacket but it is to small so we have to get a bigger size .Aunt sarah mad some cute pillowcase dresses they are so cute I amost don't want her to wear them.Grandma and grandpa tanner gave her a cute pink bear. Aunt catherine and uncle nate gave her some adorable blue pJ's she needed Pj's bad. And me and david found her two outfits some crayola color books a puzzle box and a bead toy. But by far Evias favorite toy that stole the show was from Great aunt Jenny. I thought about getting evia  a little baby doll but when we went past the aisl with the dolls the dolls sprang to life!! they cried and crawled and pooped and did all sorts of things and ever since the monkey incident she hates toys that make noise. So when i opened Jennies package me and david both said uh oh as we saw a cut little baby doll in the package we took it out and evia was instantly wary. david took it out of the package and evia started to whine a little bit. she thought it was going to make a noise. After a little while and a bit of Me mas coaxing she grabbed the doll and touched it's eyes and really started to like it. Now that doll is everywhere she loves holding it and flinging it around .Jen You did good!!

CAKE TIME!! Earlier in the week we let evia practice for ripping apart her birthday cake with a cup of pudding and i was so excited to see what she would do with the cake she loved it !!! But I think she liked squishing it between her fingers more.

YUUUUMMMMM!! After cake Evie was getting tired she was trying to be a trooper she has two molers coming in and is hurting so she did really well for being owie. I think the party went very well once we got the ball rolling. Thankyou to all the family who helped clean up and help make this a wonderful first birthday. and I love being a mom to my little girl so happy Birthday Evia mommy and dada love you!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVIA!!

 The day before Evia was born my OBGYN  put me on bed rest. I was having Braxton Hicks contra tion due to Dehydration and my blood pressure was high, and I was dialated to 3cm. I was told to take it easy and that evening I headed home bummed that I had to be bed ridden for 3 weeks little did I know our little Evia would be here sooner than we thought. As we went to bed we got to bed around Midnight . Around 1  o clock in the morning I woke up cause I started to feel severe back pain and it was getting even worse I tired to brush it off. We had already gone in several times only to find I was dehydrated  and that was causing Braxton hicks. So I drank alot of water and slipped into a bath to help ease the pain . Usually a bath would have helped but there was no change . So i went back to bed for a little bit but then around 2 o clock I knew something was different the pain had spread down to my tail bone. it was then I knew  that this was the real thing. I tried waking david up and the first thing he asked me was "hon are you sure ? did you drink some water  to help? As soon as i told him i drank a ton of water and it did nothing he sat upright in bed and we got dressed to go to the hospital. The pain felt like svere cramps and every bump hurt so david slowed down a bit. We came to one of the main intersections and nobody was around  and the light was red for at least five minutes Finally I told david to run the light we needed to get to the hospital Now.So David drove through the red light and sped up the hill to the hospital. Once we got there we were guided to a room in the maternity ward and was put on a bed. We were one of the only people  there. as they hooked me up to the heart monitor machines a nurse checked to see  how close I was all of a sudden she jumped back and said I was 10 cm.  At that moment I knew she had accidentally broke my water when she was checking me. As the nurses found out I was at 10 cm  nurses came in from everywhere and I was being monitored like  crazy they thought Evia was coming right then. They checked my heart beat and only heard one heartbeat that was so scary. this concerned the nurses and they were trying to keep me calm . Then I heard her heartbeat I sighed relief, after they found her heartbeat another nurse checked me and it turns out I was only at a six. So now that I was more stable i got into a gown and me and david walked to the birthing  part of the hospital, which luckily was just down the hallway. I was put in my room and we called my parents and davids parents to let them know my family soon came so they could see their first granddaughter be born. All I was hoping for was she would be healthy and that the anesthesiologist who would give me my epidural . The pain was getting worse and david did his best to keep me preoccupied. as soon as the anesthesiologist came in the room I was so releived . The pain was searing down my back and all I wanted to do was push but I was only now at a 7 so I had to wait. Boy when he put the needle in I was terrified , it hurt so bad but i just wanted the back pain to go away. and soon after the epidural was in I started to feel alot more relaxed soon I could not feel my toes and then my legs. Boy it was heaven it was such a relif to have the pain gone. soon Doctor Marriot came in and checked me and said I would soon be ready by that time my family was there and I was getting so excited but scared. David got all scrubbed out and soon it was time to push I did really well with the breathing and stayed really calm so I would not get hurt. I pushed about 10 times and before I knew it I saw doctor Marriot holding my beautiful little girl she had such blonde hair she had white hair! I was expecting a brunette but she was defineatly a tanner. She was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen . After David cut the umbilical cord she was wheeled off to be cleaned  I was waiting to hear her cry when she got to the table she started to holler and boy she had a set of lungs on her. Both doctor rose and Dr. Marriot said she sure was a screamer and that she was absoltuly healthy. It turns out I was in labor for about three hours  she was born  at 6:05 A.M  she was 6 pounds 4 ounces and 18.5 inches long. I could not picture or imaging loving someone I had never held or met before until she was actually born . But as she was handed to me by david  I was officially a mother I loved her dearly and the only time I had felt more love was when Me and David had been Married and sealed for time and Eternity in the temple. This past year has had many memories and joys of being a mother and wife. She has made me laugh , cry and love more than I ever had. 

 

She has said her first word "Da Da" 

 

 

 

 

she has learned to go from a bottle to a sippy cup, 

 

 

 

 

she has gone from lounging around to sitting up, crawling  at 6 months to almost walking and has broke her first two teeth at 6 months.Aslo she got five teeth  all on her top gums at the same time!!

 

 

She has had her first Halloween Christmas, Easter and Fathers and Mother Day

she has learned to love books and loves turning the pages

she has learned to splash and  flood the bathroom

She loves  playing  and  rough housing

First jamba juice

We have experienced hikes, camping at Island park and  hitting a moose

So here is a day devoted to you my sweet girl happy first Birthday we love you!!
